To take a spray, the patient points the nozzle of the Sativex vial into their mouth, either under the tongue or at the inside of the cheek, and presses down firmly.1

Taking the first spray

Patients should vary where in their mouth they spray Sativex, to help reduce the risk of irritation.2

Patients should always assume they have had a full spray, even if they are unsure they’ve pressed the nozzle down fully.1

Container must be shaken before use.2

Patients should leave at least 15 minutes between two successive sprays.2
